Clipped the wrong lead on a 60 foot oak in Tacoma and watched my saw go for a ride
Last Thursday I was rigging down a big oak in Tacoma and my groundie sent the piece before I had my lanyard set, so the limb swung back and knocked my 201T right off the carabiner. I watched a $700 saw bounce off two limbs and land in a hedge, and after I stopped shaking I just tied it off with a figure eight and finished the tree with my backup. How do you all train new groundies on rope control without scaring them off the crew?
