Tbh, I've seen way more ice makers quit because of a clogged water line than any real part failure lately.

Last month, my building had three fridge ice makers stop working, all from gunk in the water lines. It's crazy how most appliance troubles come from easy stuff we forget to do. Like my printer always jams when I don't wipe it down, same with coffee makers getting limescale. We skip the simple cleaning and then get mad when stuff quits.

You're right about the gunk buildup, Dixon, but with fridge ice makers it's usually the water filter nobody changes. Same idea though - we ignore the simple fix. My old Keurig was awful with limescale until I ran vinegar through it. And don't get me started on dryer lint traps... it's all stuff that takes two minutes and we still put it off.

Oh man, that's the whole story of modern life right there. We're all just waiting for our gadgets to punish us for being lazy. My brain knows the lint trap exists, but my hands are somehow too busy to ever open it. It's like a tiny rebellion against common sense that always backfires.
