I used to think those little plastic clips on dryer belts were just a pain, but a video from a guy in Texas changed my mind.
For the longest time, I'd just toss those plastic belt clips that come with new dryer belts. I thought they were cheap junk that would break and cause a callback. Then I saw this repair video from a guy in San Antonio who works on a ton of old Maytag dryers. He showed how using the clip, if you put it on right, can save you a solid fifteen minutes of wrestling with the belt and the motor pulley. He said he's done it on over two hundred units without a single failure. I tried it on a stubborn Whirlpool last week, and it worked like a charm. I had the belt on and the drum back in place in under five minutes. Now I keep a few of those clips in my toolbox. Has anyone else found a use for a part they used to think was useless?

My old boss would have fired me on the spot for using one of those clips. I spent years fighting with belts, convinced I was doing it the "right" way. Turns out the right way was just the hard way.

Sometimes the hard way builds skills you can't buy, @amy_bailey86.
