Appreciation post: I finally stopped fighting with those tiny washer pump hoses.

For years, I'd wrestle with the old rubber hoses on top loaders, using pliers and a lot of swearing to get them off the pump. A job in Tacoma last month changed that. The homeowner handed me a pair of hose clamp pliers he had in his garage, and it took about 30 seconds. Now I keep a pair in my van and it saves me at least 10 minutes on every pump swap. Anyone else have a simple tool that changed a routine job for them?

Actually, those are the drain hoses. The washer pump hoses are usually the smaller ones that connect to the actual pump motor itself. The big ones on the top of the tub are for draining. It's a common mix-up. The hose clamp pliers still work great for them though.

Those aren't washer pump hoses, they're actually drain hoses.
