The time I argued subs vs dubs with a guy at Anime Expo 2019 and we both got kicked out of the panel
I was at Anime Expo in Los Angeles in 2019, sitting in a packed panel room for a retro anime discussion, and a guy next to me started loudly saying dubs ruin shows because of one bad 90s dub he saw. I told him subs have their own mistranslation problems, and we went back and forth for maybe 3 minutes before a staff member asked us to leave the room. I still think subs are better for most stuff, but he had a point that some dubs like Cowboy Bebop actually add to the show. So which side are you on, subs or dubs, and has a dub ever been better than the sub for you?
