Shoutout to the Dragon Ball Z episode count, I finally looked up the real number and it broke my brain
I was rewatching DBZ on a streaming app over the weekend and got curious about how many episodes it actually has, so I went down a rabbit hole. Turns out the original run is 291 episodes, but the manga it came from only had 325 chapters, meaning they stretched a few panels into entire episodes sometimes. The Namek saga alone drags for like 30 episodes where the planet is supposedly blowing up in 5 minutes, and knowing the actual number makes that way funnier to me. I get why the anime has to pad stuff, but 291 episodes for a story you can read in a few days feels wild. Does anyone actually prefer the slow anime pace over just reading the manga?
