Rewatching old dubs vs new ones, subs just hit different now

Back in 2006 I used to watch every show dubbed on Toonami, but last month I tried a 90s classic subbed and the voice acting felt way more real. The old dub had that cheesy energy, but the sub version showed emotions I totally missed as a kid. Anyone else find it hard to go back to dubs after switching to subs for a while?
