My friend totally spoiled the ending of Attack on Titan at our watch party

We were all crammed into my tiny apartment in Chicago last weekend, about to watch the final episode. My buddy Mark just blurted out the final scene before I could even hit play... I was so mad I paused the whole thing and made him leave the room for ten minutes. We finished the episode without him, but the surprise was totally ruined. Has anyone else had a big moment spoiled right before they could see it?

Ugh, that's the worst! Honestly my cousin ruined the Red Wedding for me by laughing about it at dinner.

Spoilers actually change how your brain processes a story on a chemical level. You start looking for how it happens instead of what happens, which is a totally different experience. The surprise is gone but the tension gets replaced with a weird kind of forensic viewing.
