Just realized the "sub vs dub" fight skips the real problem, the subs themselves are wrong half the time
Been rewatching shows with a friend who reads Japanese and she kept pausing to tell me the subs on the Crunchyroll release of the 2019 run were flat out missing jokes. We got through 6 episodes and she flagged something in 4 of them, mostly puns just getting swapped for plain lines. Does anyone know a fansub group that actually explains the wordplay in notes, or am I stuck learning the language lol
