I mocked the mecha genre for 10 years, then Gundam grabbed me by the collar
I used to roll my eyes at all those giant robot shows, thinking they were just toy commercials with boring politics. Then last month my buddy forced me to watch Iron-Blooded Orphans with him, and I was hooked by episode 4. The way the kids in Tekkadan dealt with real consequences, not just flashy beam spam, got me. Now I'm 23 episodes deep and I even bought the model kit, which I never thought I'd do. Anyone else flip on a genre they roasted for ages, or am I the only one eating crow here?
