My 2003 iPod still fires up every time, but the wall clock I bought last year already died
I pulled my old 20GB iPod from a drawer last month after 8 years of sitting, and it booted right up and held a charge for 4 days, while the $40 digital clock on my nightstand quit after 11 months. Everyone keeps saying old electronics were built tougher, but I think the real difference is that simple stuff lasted because there was nothing to go wrong, not some lost golden age of quality. What old gadget of yours still runs rings around the new one that replaced it?
