The guy who said never trust a camera with a plastic lens mount was right after all

Back in 2019, an old photographer at my local shop told me to avoid any SLR with a plastic lens mount because it would develop play over time. I thought he was just being snobby about cheap gear, so I bought a Canon EOS 300v anyway because it was $40. Two years and maybe 30 rolls later, the mount wobbled so bad every shot at f/2.8 came out soft on the left side. Has anyone else had a supposedly minor build issue totally ruin their photos down the road?

yo that "supposedly minor build issue" part really got me. i feel your pain so hard. had a similar thing happen with a nikon f65 i grabbed for cheap, the plastic mount got that little wobble after like a year and suddenly my sharpest lenses looked like trash on the left side too. its the worst when you think you're saving money and then the whole camera betrays you silently over time. people act like build quality is just snob talk but stuff like this proves it matters, especially if you actually shoot a lot. sorry you had to find out the hard way like i did.

Blame the plastic lens mount not the camera @stella_lee, that's on Nikon's cheap design.
