Insulation trick that saved me $200 on my electric bill
I swapped out the fiberglass batts in my attic for blown-in cellulose last month and my electric bill dropped by $200. Some folks swear fiberglass is fine and cheaper upfront, but has anyone else seen that big a difference after switching to cellulose in an older ABQ house?

Did you go with loose fill or the dense pack method? I did the same thing to my place in the South Valley last year and saw about a $150 drop in my summer cooling bills. The real difference for me was how much quieter the house got. Fiberglass just doesn't seal up those little gaps the way cellulose does. Makes a big difference in an older home with all those weird nooks and crannies.

Used to think fiberglass was good enough, but swapping to cellulose in my old house changed my mind completely.
