Pro tip: Always check the battery date on those old wireless sensors
Had a call back last week for a motion sensor that kept going offline in a big office building. The client was sure we messed up the install. Spent an hour checking the panel and signal strength before I finally pulled the sensor down. The battery was from 2018, and it was the original install from the last company. Swapped it for a fresh one and it's been solid for five days now. Anyone else run into this with a takeover job where the old gear just wasn't logged right?

Honestly, the worst part is when the old work order just says "checked system" with no notes.

Saw a post once calling that a "digital shrug." It basically leaves the next person with zero useful info. Just lazy work, plain and simple.

Blame the new tech first, not the old battery. That date stamp is usually wrong anyway.
