Why do I keep finding random cotter pins in my toolbox that don't match anything I own?
Cleaned out my garage last week and found a bag of 16 cotter pins from a job I did on a Cessna 172 back in 2019. None of them fit any of the hardware I've got now. Am I the only one who ends up with mystery parts that just hang around forever?

Bag of 16 pins from a 2019 Cessna job. That's just how it goes. They multiply in the dark. I pulled a cotter pin out of my Ford's brake assembly last month that I swear I've never seen before. Still sitting on my bench. Probably be there forever. Mystery parts are a rite of passage.
