The basket latch broke on my air fryer mid-wings

Last Sunday I got my basket out to make some wings for the game, and the latch just snapped off in my hand. This thing is maybe 3 years old, nothing fancy, but it always worked. I had already seasoned 2 pounds of drums and flats, so I wasn't about to throw them in the oven. What I did was clamp the basket shut with two heavy binder clips I keep in the garage for stray tarps. It held fine, but the whole cook I was checking every 5 minutes worried the thing would pop open and dump hot oil all over my counter. The wings came out great but I'm not doing that again. So who here has sized up a new basket for an older model, or did you just junk the whole unit and start fresh? I'm leaning toward a new one, but I don't want a bigger footprint on my counter.
