My $75 air fryer basket insert saved my countertop but wrecked my chicken wings, who is right here
I grabbed a $75 two tier rack insert for my air fryer about 3 months back so I could cook a full pound of wings at once instead of doing two rounds. The good side is real, it doubled my batch size and my little counter in my Austin apartment stops getting crowded with cold wings waiting their turn. The bad side is the top rack sits about an inch from the heating coil, so the wings up there come out black on the edges while the bottom layer is still pink near the bone. I tried flipping halfway and dropping the temp to 360, still uneven, and now I am doing one flat layer again like a chump. Some folks say stack and shake every 6 minutes, others say never stack, just buy a bigger unit. Which side are you on, and did a rack insert actually work for you or did it go in a drawer?
