Saw a mattress ad at the laundromat in Boise and now I can't decide if it was clever or sneaky
I was killing time at the laundromat on State Street in Boise last Tuesday when I noticed a poster above the folding table. It showed a stained old mattress and the line "We know why you're really here." with a 15% off code for a mattress store two blocks away. On one hand, that is a smart spot to find people whose bedding situation might be rough. On the other, it felt like the ad was quietly judging everyone standing there with a basket of sheets. Does a funny ad that points out your problem get a pass, or does it cross a line when it pokes at something personal?
