TIL my spilled coffee made a perfect little tree on the counter

I was rushing this morning and knocked my mug over... the dark roast just went everywhere. But when I grabbed a paper towel, I stopped. The splash pattern looked exactly like a tiny, detailed pine tree, with a trunk and branches. I took a picture before I cleaned it up. Has anyone else seen something like this in a total mess?

That's actually a known thing called pareidolia. Our brains are wired to find familiar patterns in random shapes. Saw a documentary once that said it's why people see faces in clouds or toast.

My buddy once got a new car and the headliner had this weird stain. He swore it looked exactly like his old boss frowning. He'd point it out every time we drove somewhere, like "There's Frank, judging my music choices." It got to the point where he traded the car in six months later, said he couldn't take the silent disapproval. The dealer probably just saw a water spot.
