That $60 'vintage' cookbook site stole my credit card info
I found this old cooking blog from 2004 that still had a working checkout for a PDF cookbook, so I paid $60 using my debit card. Two days later I had $400 in fraudulent charges from some sketchy overseas store. Has anyone else gotten burned by buying from an abandoned site that still processes payments?

Bruh that's a hard lesson learned right there. Old sites still running payments are basically ticking time bombs for your bank account. Never trust a checkout that looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 2000s. Hope you can get that chargeback through your bank quick.

Credit cards have better fraud protection than debit cards though. Debit pulls straight from your bank account which makes getting your money back way harder.
