That $50 'vintage' website I paid for still sits empty
Back in 2018 I paid a guy $50 to build me a retro style website for my collection of old cookbooks. He used some ancient code and promised it would look like a 1999 GeoCities page. It went live but the contact form never worked and he vanished after I paid. Two years later the site is still up but frozen with broken links and a dead email address. Has anyone else gotten burned by these old web nostalgia services?

Right? That's EXACTLY what I'm wondering. I got burned the same way once, paid upfront for a "professional" site and got NOTHING but excuses for three months.
