My web design teacher in 1998 told me to use frames on every page, and I still cringe thinking about it

Back in 1998 I took a web design class at the community college in Modesto and the teacher, who was maybe 60 years old, told the whole class that frames were the future and we should use them on every client site. I built my cousin's auto shop page with three frames, a nav frame, a header frame, and a main frame, and it looked terrible on his 14 inch monitor because the nav took up half the screen. He paid me 50 bucks for it anyway and his customers kept calling to ask why the page was stuck in a little box. Was anyone else taught something in the 90s that felt right at the time but aged like milk?
